Hi,

[ Just a heads up since I change my mind rather quickly here… ]

In order to keep OC8 and later feature-equivalent with OC7 as provided
in Jessie, I packaged a bunch of applications (ownclould-contacts,
owncloud-calendar, owncloud-documents, etc.).
In order to test those new packages, I had to prepare a quirty but
working OC8 package. Time flying (and work being done), OC8 is now ready
for upload to experimental IMHO, and I will process as soon as all
dependencies (about twenty of thew) get processed from NEW (not before
Jessie gets released anyway).

Still, OC7 will stay my priority, and I don’t intend to push OC8, OC9,
or more to unstable before OC7’s EOL (or a bit sooner), but new version
should go to experimental.

One challenge WRT upstream will be to ensure smooth upgrade from 7.0.4
to whatever will be shipped in Stretch, thus my willingness to keep OC7
in unstable as long as possible (that should at least ease testing
between unstable experimental, and at worst, if we really need to add
hacks in OC7, test them widely before trying to push them into stable).

Regards

David
