wheezy will be the first Debian stable with a dbconfig-common
supported version of pdns. Thus, it should be the case that the admin
will be asked upon updating to wheezy whether to use dbconfig-common.

The first version in unstable using dbconfig-common was 3.0-1 by
virtue of its changelog. You should have been asked that question upon
upgrading to 3.0-1.
