- If possible, please start from our git repositories, they often
  contain changes since the last upload.
- Our workflow (with upstream changes only as quilt patches) and dgit
  (with direct upstream changes that get squashed into a
  debian/patches/auto-something lump) don't fit each other well.
  It might be less work if you just sent the patches to the bug
  reports which we then can add as quilt patches and upload.
