yelling to myself: use rm_conffile instead of rm!

Looks like it's working:
$ sudo dpkg -i ../libconfig-model-perl_2.070-1_all.deb 
[sudo] password for domi: 
(Reading database ... 367528 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to unpack .../libconfig-model-perl_2.070-1_all.deb ...
Unpacking libconfig-model-perl (2.070-1) over (2.069-1) ...
Setting up libconfig-model-perl (2.070-1) ...
Removing obsolete conffile /etc/bash_completion.d/config-edit ...
Processing triggers for man-db (2.7.0.2-5) ...

(/etc/bash_completion.d/cme was already removed when I purged cme package)
