Thanks for your bug report.

I note that the problem you are seeing is in code from version 0.17-1
which is in Debian/oldstable [0]. The module has seen quite a few updates
both upstream and in Debian, and the codepath you are proposing a
patch for doesn't exist anymore in this form.
