Thanks a lot for the script. It is a great help.

The problem is, that there are tests using /dev/tty which are not in
@group tty and thus can't possibly excluded.
In src:symfony I added d/p/0004-Add-more-tests-to-group-tty.patch, which
solves the problem (and will forward this patch upstream).
I still wonder why those tests did not fail when phpunit is run in
d/rules, but I'll track that down.

Anyway, both phpunit 3.7.28-2 and 4.2.6-2 now work just fine for
src:symfony.
