I've not tried that diff but instead used "pear upgrade Net::LDAP2" to
upgrade php-net-ldap2. That fixed it.

sorry for the breakage, we will prepare fixed package shortly.

Meanwhile the patch is very simple and applying it should fix your
installation as immediate remedy:
