With our latest update to samba version 2:3.6.5-3, the UCF prompted
for a 3 way merge or manual intervention.  I have difficulty
visualizing the the impact of a 3 way merge, so I choose to hand edit
the changes instead.  This occurs on multiple machines.  Attached is
one of the current config files and the ucf version it replaced along
with an older example from our backups (samba version unknown).  The
changes to the package maintainer version were hand edited each time.

To elaborate on the problem: I guess hand editing the smb.conf each
time introduces the possibility of error on each machine.  I could
just write a clean smb.conf and ignore the package maintainer version
but it will still prompt each time an update occurs.  The maintainer
version always wants to overwrite the only config file samba will
read, so it makes sense to use the maintainer version - besides, you
folks know what needs to be tweaked with each release and the changes
may be security related.  So, from my perspective, I'd just like to
override a couple of settings and add some shares but leave the rest
to the maintainer.
