Right. Excellent work! (ldd paraview is missing some libraries, but I
think your later patch could fix that - I didn't try it yet)

However, the package is smaller not because of using shared libraries,
but because of not including executables like pvpython and others.
I think pvpython should be included. When you finish today, please
write an email summarizing the current state (i.e. what works, and
what doesn't) and I'll try to look at this again tomorrow.

This package is a beast. :)
