I personally wouldn't sponsor a package without you as uploader (please
join the team!), and without the old history.

I can understand dropping it when importing from kali or external forks,
but when the package is already in Debian, doing the work is a matter of running
a command and waiting some minutes :D
(and changing the default branch from master to debian/master at the end)
