Mmmm...
It seems there is already a .gitignore file on the upstream repository.

I can add the .pc line to it.... but I see that on the current git
repository on alioth there is no branch with the git-svn mirror.

The upstream branch is based on the tarballs (which is fine), but I
don't think tarballs would contain a .gitignore.
