I will have a better look later.
I will probably need to add a configure block to detect in libacl is
present.

A nice addition could also be the support for extended attributes (xattr).


If I remember correctly, copy_tree is also used to move the home directory
when an user's home directory is changed. In that case, should the ACLs be
copied as is, or is it possible/needed to modify the ACLs (e.g. if the
user id is changed)?

If I document the support for ACLs, I will document that ACLs should be
modified/checked manually (i.e. changing the UID of an user with usermod will
probably break other's file ACLs).
