Sadly this stupidity is becoming more and more normal as more 
applications start to use dbus.

It is ironic that, while Microsoft have taken great strides forward in 
removing things from Windows that require a system reboot, the typical 
Linux desktop now behaves *worse* than Windows in this regard. :(
