Hi,

see attached mail from Mickael Marchand, the guy who wrote the kvim
patch for vim. I already wrote it on vim-dev, I think about dropping
the kvim packages from Debian. It has some annoying bugs, and nobody
seems to care about them.

What do you think?

Norbert

Hi everyone,

after thinking to it for some weeks,
I had to make my decision.

I can no longer hold with the role of "Maintainer" for KVim.

So unless someone immediately popups for this work, KVim can be
considered unmaintained.

Web site will be updated to reflect this change.
Mailing list kvim-dev@freenux.org will be closed in some days.
The repository will be kept open, old tarballs and webpages will be kept
online for now.

I am sorry and sad to not be able to keep working on it anymore, but I
really don't have enough time nor motivation for it.

regarding vimpart, I will remove it from KDE's CVS too.
It's too hard to make something usable with it even with the more
complete qxembed from the Trolls.

Thanks to all who contributed in the past, gave support and used kvim.
KVim users who wants a KDE integration are encouraged to look at Yzis
which is more actively developed than KVim ever was. It's already much
usable and fullfills my own (and other people) needs.

Mickael
