patch 109_xdefaults.vim.diff ... why?

Hi Sukria,
  in the process of pushing debian vim's patches upstream I jumped on
109_xdefaults.vim.diff (applied by you in vim 1:6.3-067+1). Have you any
feeling on how it can fix the problem reported in 264284?

To me it seems that if that patch solves the problem, then the problem
must have been really file-specific ...

How did you test it? Perhaps via some private mail exchange with the bug
submitter which are not reflected in the BTS?
