Hi!
$ dpkg -S /usr/share/consolefonts/far-a01.pcf.gz
vim-runtime: /usr/share/consolefonts/far-a01.pcf.gz
$ dpkg -l vim-runtime
[...]
ii vim-runtime 6.4-006+1 Vi IMproved - Runtime files
$ ls -l /usr/share/consolefonts/far-a01.pcf.gz
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 5350 2005-12-23 01:53 /usr/share/consolefonts/far-a01.pcf.gz
$ gzip -d </usr/share/consolefonts/far-a01.pcf.gz >/tmp/far-a01.pcf
$ file /tmp/far-a01.pcf
/tmp/far-a01.pcf: X11 Portable Compiled Font data, LSB first
# consolechars -f /usr/share/consolefonts/far-a01.pcf.gz
Cannot (yet) load a non-seekable RAW file
read_simple_font(): Invalid argument
What is this file? Why is it executable? Why is it in this directory, if it
is related to X?
Regards,
Harald
