Bug#379612: vim-gnome: GTK+ GUI window handles restricted size incorrectly when tabs are displayed

Package: vim-gnome
Severity: normal

*** Please type your report below this line ***

When a tab bar is added to a window (e.g. with :tabnew), the window
tries to expand. However, if it cannot, the editor widget assumes that
it did. The result is that, if Vim is maximized and tabs are added, the
status line is pushed off the bottom of the window (the window size
being constrained by the panels at the top and bottom of my desktop).
