it looks like it's tedious to make the behaviour changed in each
vim-variant, that would be horribly complex code, and worse, have
undefined behaviour with multiple vim-variants installed.
I've already pushed the decision to use compatible/no-compatible mode
into debian.vim.
I suppose the debconf bit will move in vim-common.config/postinst. But
that means that I can't force default to be 'compatible' for
vim-variant, with a low priority question, and to nocompatible with a
normal priority to other variants.
so do you think that putting the question to "normal" with defaults
to "nocompatible" would break the agreement that made vim-tiny enter
base ?
I feel a bit stuck at this point.
