Bug#613560: vim-gnome: Hangs on startup

gvim hangs on startup. It doesn't open a window and it uses 100% of one
CPU core and does not return to the calling terminal. I have to use kill
-KILL to stop it. I've tried with -u NONE etc and it doesn't make any
difference. I tried strace gvim to see if I could work out where it was
hanging and it worked normally!

Console vim is unaffected, but vim-gtk has a similar problem with a
subtle difference for which I'll open a cloned/merged bug.
