Asterisk 15 will not be LTS. The plan is now for Asterisk 16 to be LTS.
Versions of Astrisk normally get released at Astricon, which is around
October.

This means: around freeze we'll have:

Asterisk 13: mature, but aging. supported(*) until Oct 2021
Asterisk 15: reasonably mature. Supported until Oct 2019
Asterisk 16: fresh. supported(*) until 2025(?)

(*) Support is for the branch. Which means backporting a host of
features. We get a certain release and don't follow the branch. Fixes
for the branch may or may not work.

Asterisk 13 also got quite a few new features (and hence: some
regressions). IIRC one of the recent security advisories did not apply
to the stable version at is was in a code added for a new PJSIP-related
feature.
