I asked on #xiph for ideas why --with-pic would be needed, and they
suggested that perhaps the issue triggering this report could be a bug
in the powerpc tool chain.  If so, the library should be build using
-fPIC now.  Are anyone test if there ist still a need for --with-pic
during build of libtheora?
