Hi!
I've just uploaded to my personal repository for plone [1] the new
update packages for zope2.7, zope-common, dh-zope and all the
dependencies for plone. Main news:
* Some upstream new releases (mainly zope-formulator 1.8.0 and zope-cmf1.5)
* dh_installzopeinstances, now packaging an instance is very easy (see
plone-site provided by zope-cmfplone). This make use of db_register
from debconf and some autoscripts provided by dh-zope package.
* Some minor fixes to dzhandle.
With these packages, I'm able to install both prepackaged and manual
instances with a plone site, a CMF site (both version, 1.4 and 1.5)
and some random packages, all these in a very nice layout with multi-
instance and multi-version environment.
There are also some fixes to zope2.7 package, mainly a new init.d script,
a fixed logrotate file and an updated README.Debian.
Another thing, as far as I can see Luca De Vitis (luca@debian.org) is
MIA, so I was wondering about adopting some of his packages and getting
rid of some others (like zope-cmf, now we have zope-cmf1.4 and we'll
have soon zope-cmf1.5). Also zope (which we should adapt to zope-common)
has no maintainer uploads for more than an year.
Have you more fresh infos about this?
This stuff is still experimental, but working and in my opinion we=20
*should try* to get it into sarge (if not all, at least zope-common).=20
Is there someone which could help me? The transition to this new layout=20
isn't so painfull, and zope2.7 wasn't in woody so there won't be a real=20
upgrade path to test for the release of sarge.
I hope someone will have enough time to test these packages and to
provide me a feedback.
Thanks,
Fabio
