[Reportbug-maint] Bug#614160: gtk-ui: Cancel button is confusing

Package: reportbug
Version: 4.12.6
Severity: normal

Bonjour,

I think the Cancel button in the main window is confusing.
Such a button is commonly used to abort one step or
close one window, not quit the app (to the best of my
knowledge). Why not use an unambiguous Quit button
instead?

It would also be an opportunity to remove the
confirmation prompt, which is often more of a nuisance
than a safeguard. I read an article (lost the link, of course)
that explained that such dialogs were annoying and trained
people to click fast, making the safeguard useless for the
day you would have needed it. It also doesn’t help when
you realize only later that you should not have cancelled.
That’s why gmail has no confirm prompt but a universal
undo function, I read. What about auto-saving the
message in progress in $TMP?

Thanks for considering this.

Regards

(P.S. I don’t know how to set a component so that the
report ends up in the right group in the list of bugs
displayed by reportbug.)
