Hey, thanks for the report.

Sorry in advance if this sounds like nitpicking - I notice that a lot of these patches use BUILD_DATE instead of SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH. Any reason for the difference? Consistency is a good principle in large-scale engineering. It is perhaps not worth it to change the existing patches now, but could future patches use the latter? I did point this out a few weeks ago in the previous report too.

At some point I also intend to experiment with adding this variable to /usr/share/dpkg/, which package maintainers could be encouraged to use, then one could experiment with 'include /usr/share/dpkg/default.mk' instead of defining BUILD_DATE/SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH specifically. With the latter, package maintainers who aren't paying attention to wider developments in Debian, might be tempted to change that in the future.
