Hallo

I ask help for a Scanner Canon N656U on USB door kindly. I have discharged the driver from Healthy, the release 1.0.9 and plustek 0_44_10.

The system is a Red Hat 8.0.

I have compiled first healthy sane-backends in /sr/ local/ src: #./configure, #make, #make install.

I have copied the plustek 0_44_10 and untarred in sane-backends.

I have commanded: #make all, # make install, #make load.

I have had the following result the command #make load:

/s bin mod probe pt_drv] "exit1

/lib/modules/ 2.4.18-14/misc/pt_drv.o: init module: Success

Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.

You may find more information in sys log or the output for dmesg.

/lib/modules/2.4.18-14/misc/ pt_drv.o: insmod /lib/modules/ 2.4.18-14/misc/pt_drv.o failed

/lib/modules/ 2.4.18-14/misc/pt_drv.o:insmod pt_drv failed

make: ***[load] Error 1

I have inducted sane-frontends always in /usr/local/src: #./configure, #make, #make install.

I have tried the command: #sane-find-scanner has had the response:

find USB scanner (vendor= 0x04a9 [Canon] product= 0x2206 [CanonScan] ) at /dev/usb/ scanner0 find USB scanner (vendor= 0x04a9 [Canon] product= 0x2206 [CanonScan] ) at libusb: 001: 003

USB device was detected. This program can't be sure if it's really a scanner. If it is your scanner, it may or may not be supported by SANE. Try scanimage -L and read the backend's manpage.

# scanimage -L:

No scanner were identified. If you were especting something different, check that the scanner is plugged in, turned ou mod detected by the sane-find-scanner toll (if appropriate). Please read the documentation whitch come whit this software /README, FAQ, manpage).

bin# rmmod scanner modprobe scanner vendor= 0x04a9 product= 0x2206

Response:

rmmod: module scanner is not loaded

rmmod: module modprobe is not loaed

rmmod: module scanner is not loaded

rmmod: module vendor= 0x04a9 is not loaded

rmmod: module product= 0x2206

I have tried to alter the line plustek.conf with Emacs inserting the vendor and product of the Canon scanner but.

I have not had no result.

#dmesg

In /proc/bus/usb/devices the scanner has seen evenly.

I have removed the # in the line dll.conf in front of the lines for Canon scanner, but it has not changed nothing.

Could anybody help me?

Thank you Maurizio
