[sane-devel] I can not use my HP Scanjet 2400 with Linux SANE does not support it. What can i do?

This scanner looks very similar to the HP ScanJet 2300c, see

But the backends itsself must be written by you or someone else who
uses this scanner. In the link above, someone who use the 2300 are
listed, they wanted to write a backend. Maybe you can contact them and
can help them?

You can't. But you can compare the output of /proc/bus/usb/devices
with the one of other scanners and if it's the same (but the
ids/names), you can be pretty sure that it's the same chip. However,
we don't know which chip is used in the HP 2300c so that's of not much
use yet.

There is also the tool sane-find-scanner which knows some chips used
in scanners. However, you need a current version from CVS and it won't
detect really new chipsets.
