[sane-devel] plustek backend failing to open device under non-root

I'm having an issue of plustek backend 
(sane-backends-git20150807) failing to open the 
device under a non-root account. Can't use 
scanimage, can't use xsane. Scanning under root 
works fine.


The account is added to `scanner` group. Sane 
udev rules in /etc/udev/rules.d mention 
`scanner` group.

However, strangely, when Canon LIDE 25 is 
plugged in, the device node is created with 
group owner `lp` and mode 664, however. Can't 
find the reason. The account is in group `lp`, too.

Ultimately, when trying to do scanimage on 
specific device, like

env SANE_DEBUG_DLL=255 SANE_DEBUG_PLUSTEK=255 
scanimage -d plustek:/dev/bus/usb/001/006

right now, I'm getting this

Could anybody advise, please?
