Yes, that part works just fine.  I see you are correct about the
compression -- just moved from Sbuild.pm.

OK, I'll stop pestering you with sbuild/buildd-related things if you
would prefer.  Given that the MIME+compression works fine, I think
probably simplest to simply adopt that as a replacement and drop the
old method.
