It either might be or might be not the best solution. The trouble is that it is
unknown for now what is the correct error code on FreeBSD to trigger this
execution branch. On linux the operations over the stalled device results in
- -ETIME. It is still to be discovered what is the correct error code for FreeBSD.
I'm going to give it a try this week - trouble is that I'm totally unexperienced
with FreeBSD - except for minor experiments with ports on MacOS X - so it's
going to be "an exiting new experiment" :-D).

P.S. BTW, are there any ports of libusb and NUT to MS Windows? I've got an
installation of Windows XP Home on my note, including MSYS and cygwin, so if
there are such ports available it might be possibile to test it on Windows also.
