It's up to you, since I could make an argument either way and don't have
any strong feelings.  I think it was on the boarder of acceptable
disruption, and I went back and forth on it.  But since I kept getting bug
reports about it, I went ahead and erred on the side of backward
compatibility.

I suppose it might be worth doing this just so that people have less time
with the intermediate and now-reverted behavior and it may save some
unnecessary effort.

Yeah, I'm never sure exactly how the third-party module update process
works in terms of timing.  :)
