I commited packaging changes to Alioth.

In order to test the packages you'll need to remove debian/libnetsvcs*
before starting the build. Indeed these are not being built, nor
installed. I have not yet found why.

So to recap the list of what needs to be done to have clean packages:
 - repair ace-netsvcs
 - repair PerlACE
 - repair MPC if needed
 - review existing layout, and define what to do with proposed layout
   (i.e. the one set up by `make install')
 - perform update tests

Next, I'd like to have init.d scripts for TAO services. I know RPM
already provide such scripts. But I think we can look further and
provide a framework to perform regular tasks with CORBA services:
start, stop, list, configure, etc.

How about that?

Other things I'd like to see in Debian, related to ACE+TAO - I was on
vacation, hence over optimistic on available bandwidth:
 - package R2CORBA, Ruby CORBA language mapping. I started something a
   while ago, but don't know Ruby a lot.
 - package lorica, to tunnel CORBA traffic through a firewall. The
   42tools.com website seems to be down at the moment.

Anyone interested?
