* upgrade ogre to 1.8.1 (to support boost1.50+)
* upgrade ember to 0.7.0 (mini-ogre transition?!)
* many packages fail on BOOST_JOIN (which appears to be a bug in qt4's moc)
* a few do fail on configure or linking either due to: underlinking,
still referencing -mt libraries, hard-coding boost version numbers.
* unrelated FTBFS (e.g. failing to find multiarched python headers etc.)

Should I open a transition bug report and start filing wishlist bugs
against the affected packages & block the transition bug?

When jessie opens, I fear this transition tangling in with the other
transitions.

For example next ubuntu is being staged with gcc-4.8 as default thus in
additional to these boost bugs we will get:

http://udd.debian.org/cgi-bin/bts-usertags.cgi?tag=ftbfs-gcc-4.8&user=debian-gcc%40lists.debian.org

I proposed open next ubuntu devel release (in may) with boost1.53 as
default. Would boost maintainers welcome that? When are you planning to
switch to boost1.53 by default in Debian? (It was raised as a concern in
Ubuntu) [1]
