Hi,

I send you this mail because i don't know which package has this problem
between grub-efi and grub-efi-amd64 before to report a bug.

In this page : http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/errata there is
a problem with grub-efi and amd64 systems (See *Potential issues with UEFI
booting on amd64)

*
1-* *I have a laptop bought in summer 2011~ and the UEFI mode is disabled
by default. I tried to install Win7 and Debian Wheezy with UEFI mode for
tests and find bug.

2- I enabled UEFI in my BIOS, i choose to boot on my "UEFI Win7 DVD drive"
and I was able to install without problems Win7 EFI mode.

3- To install Wheezy RC3, i used a USB Key. In the BIOS, i see correctly
the "UEFI USB Key" and i choose to boot it in the first one.

4- When i boot on the USB key, i have a message which appears during
1s = *Error
: prefix is not set*
After this message, the installer main menu appears so i can choose between
"Install","Graphic Install", "Expert Install" etc...

The problem is here, if i choose one of these options, *i have a black
screen* and i can't install Wheezy. I tried all options for the same
result.

----------

It's not a installer files problems because the Wheezy installation without
UEFI (UEFI disabled) works correctly.
And sorry for my English, i'm French.

Other thing, i don't know if it's the same bug but if i burn on a CD the
Wheezy RC3, in the BIOS i haven't "UEFI DVD Wheezy drive" (it's not the
real name, it's an example for the drive with UEFI mode), i have only "DVD
Wheezy drive" (classic mode)

Thanks for your help,
Berillions
