Hi,

thanks for your consideration. I'm not very familiar with the internals
of festival, and the patch I proposed is based on yours. It seems to
work for me, so if you do the NMU, I'd be happy if you included it too.

If possible, please do a quick check to see that it works for you as well, 
just in case :)
