------- Additional Comments From Martin Lichtvoll de 2006-09-03 10:31 -------
Did anyone who can reproduce this bug test the patch that Till Adam kindly provided? I do not see the point in adding further "I have this too" reports as long as no one tests whether the patch fixes those problems.

I did not yet experience this bug. I use POP3 at home and didn't find (!) any mail losses with dIMAP using an NFS mounted home directory at work.

There are instructions for compiling KDE available:
http://developer.kde.org/build/old/compile_kde3_5.html

One would have to build arts and kdelibs, and then can compile kdepim as I understand the instructions. Of course one should apply the patch from Till Adam before. ;)

According to this entry it should easily be possible to compile and install KDE or parts of it into a directory in the user's home directory to avoid messing up and existing KDE installation:

http://docs.kde.org/development/en/kdebase/faq/install.html#id2548646

I have lots of open TODOs, but if no one else volunteers I may look into providing a compiled KMail version with this patch applied after mid of september. But then this wouldn't probably work everywhere anyway as there is a mixture of different GCC compiler versions and shared libraries floating around in different linux installations.

So best is when someone who can actually reproduce this problem tries to compile KMail 3.5.4 with the patch applied and test it. I am pretty sure there are people who can help with compiling questions!
