I know also run the patch. I get a lot of messages about deleted mails on the server and if I want to delete them locally in folders where I definitely have not deleted any mails. But I have read mails there and so the status has changed. I do not know if this is due to false dialogs or false interpretation through kmail, but if kmail misinterpreted mails whose status has changed as deleted on the server this could be one reason for mail loss.
Yesterday (before upgrading) I had also another rather severe mail loss in my inbox, which occured while I was running thunderbird parallel with non-cached imap on another machine and then (my laptop had just returned from repairs) started kmail with cached Imap. After syncing several Email not disappeared but turned into "unknown subject/sender" and lost their content in my kmail. Lucally this seemed to be only locally even though I just had synced and I stopped Kmail while it was writing again to sever, so I only lost a few mails. In general I newer loose mails by just disappearing. It is always that Mails loose content/subject/sender but remain in the inbox.
