[Pkg-lyx-devel] heads up re libmagick6 and convert in LyX

Dear maintainers,

The latest version of libmagick6 in unstable is 5:6.0.3.5-2 .  This 
version breaks LyX's ability to show eps files onscreen during edits.  
LyX uses "convert" to show eps files onscreen.  But the command
convert xxx.eps xxx.ppm
gives nonsense output in the latest version of libmagick6.  This is 
even when the xxx.eps file is a perfectly valid eps file created by 
xfig.  The file PRINTS ok, but it does not show correctly onscreen 
during edits.  Downgrade to the previous version of libmagick6 fixes 
the problem.

I filed a bug against libmagick6. (Bug # 261768)   But the maintainer 
downgraded it to "normal".  I fear that this means that the broken 
libmagick6 will soon propagate into testing.  Then LyX will be broken 
in testing and probably in the new Debian release.

Can you head this off somehow?  Maybe upgrade the bug back to 
"serious" or some level sufficient to keep it out of testing?
