audacity 1.3.8 almost ready

Hm, it seems this has become non-trivial. However, are you sure it is 
still really needed? From debian/changelog I read that it has been 
added in order to be able to build against the system portaudio but 
this has never been used...

Please try to integrate this patch upstream again. AFAICT last time 
you sent the patch to the mailing list it was in HTML format (or 
similar) so chances are high that it just got ignored. I'd recommend 
to put it in the package but keep it disabled (e.g. remove the .patch 
suffix) until it has been reviewed upstream, but I don't have a strong 
opinion about that.
