I will be sprinting on MySQL packaging in Debian from Canonical's London
offices during the week 8-12 December. Since much of this work would be
best done with coordination with variants, and we'd like variants to be
making progress too, it'd be great if those working on variant packaging
could also join us in London. James will also be there for a couple of
days to focus on Galera packaging with Otto. James will be also be
available for the entire week to sponsor uploads as needed.

We've already reached out to most of you and I know that some of you are
already attending. If we've missed anyone, please shout and we'll make
arrangements to make sure that you're included.

I'd also like to discuss, in advance and here on the mailing list, what
we'll be working on and what goals we should have for the sprint. In
particular, I'd like to focus on getting pre-planned work done during
the sprint, rather than using the time to debate what we should be
doing and have no time left to get it done.

We also have an opportunity for an online G+ Hangout during the Ubuntu
Open Summit later on this week. Like the sprint, I'd like to use this
time to make decisions, rather than for new or existing debate. I don't
see the session scheduled yet; I'll report back to the thread when we
know the date and time.

I'm sorry that I had not posted to the list on this before; I'd have
liked to have had more time for a discussion before these events.
Unfortunately other things have been getting in the way.

I will next write a separate email to discuss and debate what we should
actually focus on getting done at the sprint.

Robie
