Yes, please.  Wholeheartedly approved.

Rather than removing them, I'd move them to branches, but otherwise sounds
fine to me.

If there isn't anything in openldap-guide but empty directories, I'd just
remove it.  I don't really have an opinion on the others, although they
sound fairly obsolete to me.
