Great.

Not only that, but having fewer dependencies, leaner packages etc. would
be a good thing, especially for those that want to install Debian in
some constrained space (I do) and/or create/use live CDs (a lot of
future Debian users).

I am confident that they see that this is a change for the better.

I can upload a first cut to experimental to ask people to install, test,
give feedback and upload another version to unstable, if they so desire.
Heck, I am all for leaner packages and finer granularity. :-)
