Thanks for this.

I'd very much like to avoid this extra step: an extra synthetic commit,
along the lines of

http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-request-tracker/libmodule-install-rtx-perl.git/log/?h=dom/dpkg-match-tarball

appears to be the way to go.

Also, it looks like there are tags missing - do you need a
git push --tags?

Otherwise this looks good to me, so I'll upload this shortly unless
you think the git workflow looks wrong.

(I use dpkg-buildpackage -uc -us -S and sbuild rather than a single
pdebuild step, but that part doesn't matter so much.)
