[Pkg-samba-maint] trunk vs. master?

Hi folks,

I was a bit confused when trying to start using the git repository, because
the 'trunk' branch is out of date by an upload or two. Looking more
closely, I find that there's a 'master' branch in
git://git.samba.org/samba.git which is up to date. What's the reason for
the two branches? Should the 'trunk' branch perhaps be deleted as obsolete,
to eliminate confusion?
