Dear Michael,

thanks for the explanation – I didn't know, that the installer handles that.
When I installed Lenny for the first time (on my laptop) - using the
snapshot from 25th of August - the user created during installation was
neither added to netdev nor powerdev.

To reproduce this, I installed Lenny again today (using that snapshot
mentioned above) into VirtualBox, but luckily the user is in both groups
now (and a couple of others).

So, I can't reproduce the error – sorry. Unfortunately, I can't do a new
installation on my laptop at the moment to see, if this makes any
difference.
