the main "download section" of Debian is for sure GNU/Linux, not BSD.
Debian is a Linux distro and not the upstream of VoIP products you
possibly refer to. Moreover you haven't yet specified what you actually
want from us. ;)

RH9/Fedora are separate distros and have their own website/download
links. You might want to check there for further instructions.
http://redhat.com/ and http://fedora.org/ should get you started.

Well, with ISDN yes, with a regular analog phone line it's a bit more
tricky. Sending should work, receiving unconditionally will screw your
PBX functions unless you integrate them into Asterisk (which I'm not
aware is possible with Asterisk and analog modems).
