using the mergeWithUpstream mode no big changes are required but we'll need to
put the (.orig) tarballs somewhere for svn-buildpackage to download (either
online or in SVN)

me explaining more or less svn-buildpackage at pkg-bluetooth:
http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-bluetooth-discuss/2006-July/000147.html

more info can be found at /usr/share/doc/svn-buildpackage/ especially the HOWTO

the interesting feature of course is svn-upgrade which takes a new upstream
tarball, looks at file changes and correctly starts a branch with the upstream
version in it.
when a new upload is made svn-buildpackage --svn-tag shall be run to tag the
current state into the tags directory.

I'm currently looking at vde2 to start with, let's see if it is interesting to
use.

comments welcome,

To be learned in an art&C, the Theory is sufficient; to be a master of
it, both the Theory and practice are requisite.
