In principle: Create this file (or /dev/usbscanner0 or whatever you
want). But this isn't your problem.

This scanner is not supported. Is the scanner you use really a "Trust
Compact Scan USB 19200"? In this case Trust uses two completely
different scanners with the same name. The one that's supported is a
Mustek 1200UB in reality and was reported as a "Trust Compact Scan USB
19200" to me. Your scanner is probably a relabeled Mustek 1200UB Plus
which is not supported by the Mustek USB backend. At least the vendor
and device ids are the same.
