OK. I'll keep investigating, but I don't have a lot of time to invest in 
it so since 1.0.21 works I may stick with that.

Great. You'll be interested to know that the configure patch is no 
longer required due to MinGW updates.

I've also built 1.0.21 for 64-bit, but I haven't had a chance to try the 
resulting DLL yet.
