The Windows version of tuxtype does not use SDL_Pango, which is necessary for
correct Indic language display. We hope to add this in the next few months.
SDL_Pango was added to the Linux build last year for this reason, but we have
not yet worked out how to do this for Windows.

The web site for tuxtype and tuxmath is:

http://tux4kids.alioth.debian.org (or http://www.tux4kids.com).

The source code is in a Subversion repository at:

svn://svn.debian.org/tux4kids/

Basically, tuxtype is a native Linux program, and you will not be able to get
any Indic languages to display correctly in Windows until a lot of work gets
done on the program (specifically, changing the program to use GNU Gettext
and getting the Windows crossbuild to support both Gettext and SDL_Pango).
If you want to help, you are extremely welcome, but you probably can't do
much using Windows. I make all the Windows builds on my Debian Linux
computer, because I couldn't easily get a native Windows build set up. In my
experience, Linux is a vastly better system for any sort of cross-platform
development. It is hard to do anything on Windows that will work with
non-Windows computers.

Also, it would be better to direct questions to the tuxtype developer's list:

<tux4kids-tuxtype-dev at lists.alioth.debian.org>

Regards,
