Initial Comment:
When downloading files with either progress method, the amount of updating it does easily saturates my downlink (324kbytes/s), making me use -q or screen, which is not ideal.

Can we introduce a less-updates (l) command line option? I have made code changes to compute and display updates every 5 seconds instead of the once every look iteration. I have tested it with an assortment of files.
